Sanctuary is more than just a space. It’s a mindset, meaning that it can go wherever YOU go. This is how I take sanctuary with me wherever I go.
When I travel, I take a little bag of crystals I have sitting on my desk. I tuck them into my bag, along with a few other things too — they remind me of who I am. Things like my dad’s watch, a tiger’s eye piece, other things that serve as reminders to me. I get moving so fast during the day…I become an accomplishing machine. It’s easy to forget who I am as I’m rushing around, and these bring me back to me. They remind me, “I’m not a machine; I can feel good in any moment.”
And if it gets really bad, I light a candle. If it’s still hard for me to get past it, I spray some aromatherapy. Still not working? I put on some music. At that point, the combination of my signposts usually lets me breathe again. And if it doesn’t, I fall to my last resort: vodka. 😉
With appreciation,
Lisa

What a great reminder on how to stay grounded. Thanks, Lisa!
I love that you travel
With your dads watch, that is so special. And on a silly note , so you literally travel with “rocks”. Lol. As people say, “your bag is go heavy what do you have in here, ROCKs?” And you can ,”why yes I do !”

My bag IS so heavy Michelle — I’m still laughing at this image. Thanks for reading my post and sharing your smile.
My pleasure, Kathy! Thank you for reading.
